Your Presence in the Supply Market
As pointed out by an Aberdeen report, presence in the supply markets is
essential for a successful sourcing initiative. Simply because of the
language barriers and the physical distance, sourcing from China cannot
be effectively executed from the customer's internal procurement
department. A typical sourcing initiative involves many steps, such as
assessing supplier technical and manufacturing capabilities, supplier
qualification, clear communication of product specifications to
suppliers, prototype or sample testing, supplier implementation,
periodic supplier audits, and relationship establishment. All these are
difficult or even impossible to effectively execute without a local
presence in the supply market.
Larger companies choose to establish an International Purchasing Office
(IPO) in China. However, the costs of running an IPO are very high and
managing such a remote office is also extremely difficult. For medium to
small scale purchasing, the savings often do not justify the operational
costs of the IPO.
Being an outsourced IPO, Cachet can operate at a small portion of the
costs compared with an internal IPO. Cachet's involvement also
eliminates the long duration required for IPO set up and realize faster
cost saving.
Our Strength
Cachet is a technology-oriented company. The team members all have
engineering background, which differentiates us from other sourcing
companies. For most of our projects, we have worked very closely with
the engineering teams from both the customers and the manufacturers.
If a product is a complex system or assembly which requires custom made
parts or subassemblies from a number of subcontractors, our engineering
knowledge and technical experience is of great importance for a
successful coordination and management.
Acting as an engineering coordinator, we have been involved in the
material selection, product design, process design, etc. Our engineering
strength makes an added value to the customers.
